Since quality is what modular home shoppers want and are willing to pay for, then shoppers are entitled to the truth about Champion Genesis modular home's lack of quality, before they make a mistake and become customers.  One of the best ways to measure quality is to review experiences of previous buyers.  Our experience with Champion Genesis and plumbing repairs discussed in an earlier post were not an exception.  You owe it to yourself to take a minute and review the following repairs on another Champion Genesis home recently delivered to Southern California.

This itemized list totaled $2950.00 as shown in the statement below:

What were the issues with the plumbing? Was it between sections or in the walls? What did your builder offer to do to remedy your problem?

The list is too long to repeat in this reply.  The problems were both between the sections as well as throughout the walls and floors!   The best descriptions are found in earlier posts which start on 3/30/07 and continue on.   The builder's response or lack of response, is also described in earlier posts.

I was interested in the codes. I build modular in DE/MD and the photos look like it was built to HUD codes not International/BOCA CODES. There is a problem on what a modular home is and who is doing it. Many trailer companies started calling their products modular when the trailer market went into the toilet a few years back. We call them HUDULAR, still built on a trailer frame. None of the homes I build use the black pipe and electrical boxes shown in your photos. Good luck.
