How Many Unhappy Champion Genesis Customers Are There?

The following is a comment from J Jones:
I am in the middle of quite a mess with a redman/genesis/champion home
out of the chandler site. I wish I had seen this website before I
bought. It has taken 20 months to get to this point. It is nice to know
I am not alone. If there are others in AZ I would like to hear from
them, esp. if they used a dealer from Apache Junction.
Would you mind elaborating on your experience with Champion Genesis Redman?

We bought a genesis modular home from MtnVw in Apache Junction in 2005 and we are STILL in litigation. So many things went wrong - 3 roofs, mold, bad wiring, set up wrong, bad plumbing, and total unprofessional behavior from dealer and Champion GM.

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have encountered with the dealer and Champion Genesis, although I am not surprised, given all of the similar situations Champion Genesis customers experience. I want to thank you for letting readers know what they should expect if they decide to buy a Champion Genesis product. There is some consolation, albeit small in comparison to the problems, in knowing that by informing the public about what they can expect from Champion Genesis, there may be fewer people making the same mistake we did, that is to say, putting any trust at all in Champion Genesis. Good luck, please keep us posted.

My husband and I purchased a modular home from Homes of Merit/Genesis in Lake City, Florida in 2007. February 2008 we will be moved in one year and are still waiting for this company to complete out punch list. During our experience with Homes of Merit, we have been mislead and treated extremely poor. I am attempting to resolve our home problems but, I think we will have no choice but to seek legal counsel. DeVaults - A Cedar Fire Rebuild? wrote:
Chandler, AZ? We bought our home from the same manufacturing site! We bought the Jefferson II as a rebuild from the Cedar Fire of 2003. We were finally able to get in to our "home" in May of 2007. Pipes were missing from the walls, 300 feet of tangled wire that is useless, including wiring for phones. Jacks were in, but there wasn't a way to connect to them with the mess of wires. It became a matter of life and death for us during the Witch Fire. They use reverse 911 on standard phone lines. We almost didn't make it out, my child, three dogs, two cats, and five horses tied to a mini van. It was a damgerous walk, five miles to town through smoke, fire, and electrical wires. Water heater problems are faced up to five times per day. The house is cracked, leaks, and the sill for the sliding door is collapsing. We are out the initial $185,000 for the house, plus the ongoing expenses to deal with the problems daily. Are you a part of a class action suit? We would love to know of anyone involved and would like to be a part of it. I'm ready to fight back in the only way I know how, through our legal system.

Thank you for all of the support. This has been a terrible situation for many of us. My "home" goes from bad to worse each day and the dealer is out of business. There are problems from the foundation up to the roof. IT has been 2 years, yes, the only avenue may be the legal system but it is very costly. Reply to this

We're are one of three in our area. They put the water heater on the second story in my child's bedroom closet. It was a natural gas water heater and we have propane. The water heater was flat on the floor in a small, confined, boxed in area. It was a fire waiting to happen. Our ceiling was glued on and is sagging at every joist. The wiring is still not repaired nor up to standards. Our contractor should never have been given a license. He hired drug addicts and newbies to work on our house. They even slept in our house before we moved in. We found the candles that had burned down to the wood subfloor in my bedroom. They used our toilets without water. Genesis should be brought up on criminal fraud charges. It was touted as being "the same as a stick built house." Pick-up sticks, maybe. The house is garbage, literally. Reply to this
